Description
Description
Classic Prosecco with fresh pear and citrus notes. Lovely as an aperitif or the perfect base for a Bellini.
Grape
The main grape variety is Glera which produces wines that are light in body, medium acidity and lifted pear and floral notes.
Producer
Situated in among rolling hill in the village of Refrontolo in the province of Treviso, the heart of Prosecco country, Cantina Bernardi was founded in 1960 and is still family run. Prosecco is what they’re all about but the do also produce a number of still red and white wines.
Region
Prosecco is a sparkling wine produced in nine provinces spanning the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions. The best quality wines come from Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene Superiore, which can only be made in the Treviso province of Veneto on the hills between the towns of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene and the smaller Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG.
Food Region
This wine is very fresh and light so can be overpowered by many dishes. Unlike many other wines it is probably better without food. Can work well with cured meats and fresh cheeses like buffalo mozzarella and salads.
